The big day dawned and a team of 5 Portal Pack Cubs made the long journey to Poynton to represent Chester District at this year's County Craft Final.

Jake, Ben, George, Eli and Hugh worked really hard for 2 hours to produce a great model of a fun fair which included a ferris wheel, hot dog stall and a water shute.

Sadly the team didnt win this time but Akela & Baloo are proud of them.
Well done Cubs.

 

This year's District Cub Craft Competition was hosted by 1st Tarporley.

9 teams of Cubs from across Chester District took part. The theme was Fantasy, the Cubs were asked to design a model, a cover for a fantasy story book and do a still life drawing of a dragon.

The Portal Pack team worked well together and at the end of the afternoon were announced as this year's winners. They will now represent Chester District at the County Final in Pound in on 23rd March.

Akela and Baloo are very proud, well done Cubs, Jake, Oliver, Eli, George and Hugh.

 

Was in aid of Macmillan Cancer, took place at Morrison's in Winsford on Sat.8th Dec.

We packed shoppers bags from 10.00-15.00 and received £630.00 in donations for Macmillan.

There were 8 Portal Pack Cubs, 3 Scouts, 1 Explorer and 1 Beaver.
Well supported by Leaders from Portal Cubs, Beavers, Brum, Ark and Parents Exec Chairman and Secretary.
Very festive, all in uniform with Santa hats!

A wonderful turn out by 1st Tarporley Scouts to commerate the end of World War One, one hundred years ago this year.  Many of the fallen were formerly Scouts, and it was very moving to see their sacrifice being honoured by the current generation.
