Portal Pack
Portal Pack Cubs took to the water recently. They enjoyed a night of bellboating on the River Dee during a Chester & District organised paddle sports session. The Cubs had great fun learning how to paddle the huge boats maneuvering them up and down the river in between splashing everybody they met on their travels. A fantastic night, thanks to Simon for running it.
Portal Pack Cubs held this years camp at Bickerton Hill Campsite. This was our first camp in tents for a few years and the first camp for a lot of the Cubs.
The weather was amazing, warm and sunny all weekend and the location surrounded by woods gave the Cubs lots of space to enjoy the outdoors.
Activities over the weekend included wide games, capture the flag, manhunt and tag, a hike exploring the local area, team building challenges, a water fight, the famous Teddy bear competition, adventures in a cargo net and a campfire with great singing and delicious smores.
The most important thing was that the Cubs had fun and enjoyed their weekend.
Many thanks to all those that helped make the camp possible, Bagheera, Brum, Rikki, Ark, Huxley Pack Akela, June (our Teddy competition judge) and our two young leaders, Bailey and Richard.
The final Pack meeting of the term meant we said goodbye & good luck to Lucas, Ben & Jack as they departed for Scouts. Three fantastic Cubs, good luck to you all.
We were also delighted to present Ben with his Chief Scout's Silver Award. The top award in Cubs, Fantastic achievement Ben.
Two teams from the Pack took part in the Chester & District Ten Pin Bowling Competition held on the 22nd March. A fun night was enjoyed by all the Cubs made even more memorable when their combined score saw them win the event. The photo shows 10 of the 12 Cubs that took part.
